House, formerly farmhouse. C17 witn C19 addition. Rendered cob and stone rubble
walls. Gable ended slate roof. Axial stone rubble stack and rendered brick stack
at left gable end.
Plan: 3-room and through passage plan with lower end to the left, hall stack backs
onto passage. Inner and lower room fireplaces inserted in C19. the inner room may
have been partly rebuilt at this time as its front wall projects slightly. Also in
C19 an outshut was added along the rear wall and an outbuilding extending from the
left-hand end.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4-window front of C20 small-paned 3-light
casements. C20 stable type door to left of centre. Right-hand side of house
projects slightly. Lower barn/shippon attached at left-hand end.
Interior: open fireplace in hall has chamfered wooden lintel with granite jamb to
right, stone and brick oven in left-hand side and a floor of slates set on edge.
Over the window is a re-used chamfered beam with square mortices in its soffit.
Small C18 wall cupboard with fielded panel door. Only insubstantial roof timbers
which are probably C19.
