Farmhouse. Circa 1800, with few later alterations. Slatestone rubble; the front in
granite ashlar. Asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end
stacks with brick shaft to left and ashlar shaft to right.
Plan: double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room to front left and
right, each room heated from a gable end stack. Shallower rear service rooms.
Attached at the left end is a later C19 stable; C20 addition to rear.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front on plinth. Central C19 6-panelled
door with fanlight, set in round-arched recess. Ground and first floor to left and
right a C19 20-pane sash with cambered stone arch. First floor centre a C19 16-pane
sash with cambered stone arch. The right end is blind. Attached at the left end is
a stable of single storey with loft, in slatestone rubble with granite quoins. At
the left side the stable has a plank door with ventilation slit to right and left, 2-
light window with shutters at loft level to centre. At the rear, the main house has
C20 single storey addition to left and 2-light 3-pane casement with granite surround
to right; first floor has C20 4-pane window to left, 6-pane window with granite
surround to centre and C20 window to right. The rear of the stable has external
stone stair leading to a plank door to the loft and plank door at ground floor, both
with cambered stone arches.
Interior: Not inspected, but may retain good plain features of early C19.
