Farmhouse with attached front garden wall. Mid - late C19, with few later
alterations. Slatestone rubble with brick dressings; the front rendered and lined
out. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with brick shafts.
Plan: Double depth plan; central entrance with principal room to front left and
right, each heated from a gable end stack. To rear right is the kitchen, with a
single storey lean-to to rear right, heated from a stack at the right side. Stair to
rear centre and unheated dairy to rear left. The garden wall runs in an L-plan from
the right side and encloses a rectangular garden with a gateway at the front.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front. Central 6-panelled and glazed C19
door with cambered arch. C19 12-pane sash with sidelights and cambered arch to right
and left. First floor has three C19 12-pane sashes with cambered arches. The right
end has C19 12-pane sash at first floor to right. The single storey lean-to is to
right. The left end is blind. At the rear there is a 12-pane sash lighting the
stair at first floor, and C19 16-pane sash at first floor to right, with cambered
brick arches. At ground floor there is a 2-light casement, blocked, to right,
formerly lighting the dairy. The front garden wall is in rubble, with rubble coping,
about 1½ metres high. C20 cast iron gate in the front range to centre.
Interior: Not inspected, but may retain good plain features of the C19.
