10.2.67 as the Barley Sheaf Inn and 2 next
houses adjoining no. 40/2)

GV II

House. Circa 1840, with few later alterations. Slatestone rubble with granite
dressings. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with
rendered shafts.
Plan: Double depth plan with central entrance and principal room to front left and
right; shallow rear service rooms.
Exterior: 2 storeys, a symmetrical 3-window front, with granite quoins. All windows
are C19 16-pane sashes with margin glazing and granite jambs and voussoirs with
keystones. Central round-arched doorway with dressed stone arch and fanlight with
decorative glazing bars; C20 half-glazed door. The sides abut the adjoining houses.
Interior: Not inspected.
