Inn. Dated WK 1837; later C19 additions and alterations, and C20 alterations.
Slatestone rubble with granite dressings and quoins. Left side rendered. Hipped
slate roof with ridge tiles. End stacks with rendered shafts.
Plan: Double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room to front right and
left, each room heated from an end stack. These rooms have had the partition walls
removed at gound floor. Rear service room, and a later C19 service wing to rear
left, of one room plan, heated from a stack at the rear gable ends.
Exterior: 2 storeys on granite plinth, a symmetrical 3-window front. All windows
are early C19 16-pane sashes with margin glazing, granite jambs, voussoirs and
keystones. Central round-arched doorway with dressed stone arch, fanlight with
decorative glazing bars, C19 double 2 panelled doors with pilasters and cornice.
Granite datestone set above the doorway. The right end abuts the ajoining house. At
the left side, the plinth is returned, with C20 16-pane sash with similar dressings
at ground and first floor to left. Set back to left is the lower 2-storey service
wing; in rubble with granite dressings. There is a C20 door to right and C20 window
to left with similar granite dressings; at first floor a smaller window with C19 2-
light 12-pane casement with granite jambs and voussoirs. The gable end of the wing
is blind; there are C20 single storey additions at the rear.
Interior: The interior has been much remodelled at ground floor; the room to right
retains a late C19 chimneypiece.
