Wrongly shown on OS map as nos. 17 and 17a. House. Circa 1500 and C17,
extended in C19. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles.
Main range of 3 bays facing N, C17, and to left of it, 2-bay crosswing, c.1500,
with C18/C19 internal stack at rear. Early C19 parallel range to rear of main
range, with 2 external stacks at rear, and small lean-to extension beyond one
stack, weatherboarded and roofed with red clay pantiles. C19 lean-to extension
to rear of crosswing, with slate roof. 4-window range of C20 sashes. C20 glazed
door with side light. Roof hipped at left end, incorporating crosswing with
main roof. The crosswing has jowled posts, and a cambered tiebeam with arched
braces to it. Probably jettied at the front and underbuilt. Crownpost roof
with axial braces, complete in rear bay, altered from a gable to a hip in the
front bay. The main range has one chamfered beam exposed, otherwise mainly
plastered.
