9/134 Congregational Church

Congregational church. Built for a church formed in 1793, much altered in the later
C19 so that any early work is concealed. Rendered, half-nipped slate roof.
Plan: auditorium with deep west gallery and Sunday school room below.
To north and south, 2 round-headed windows of 9 panes each with fanlight, west front
has similar round-headed light, round-headed doorway with double doors and fanlight;
round-headed gallery light above to right and left.
Interior: 4-bay ceiled roof to auditorium with wall-plate. West gallery supported
on pier with capital, has screen with geometric floral design. Late C19 organ at
east end.
