Farmhouse. Circa 1840, with few later alterations. Slatestone rubble with granite
dressings; partly slate-hung. Hipped slate roof with crested ridge tiles and
rendered stacks to sides and to rear gable ends of service rooms.
Plan: Double depth plan, with entrance off-centre to right, larger principal room to
left and smaller principal room to right, each heated by end stack. To centre right,
the stair hall and rear right a service room projecting to right with stack to side.
To rear left, there is a small unheated central room and larger end room heated by
gable end stack. A single storey scullery/wash house to rear forms a porch entrance
to the kitchen to rear left.
Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 3-window front with gabled bay to right; front
slate hung. Ground floor has off-centre to right doorway, with 4-centred arched
chamfered granite surround, with recessed spandrels with roundels, plain door with
glazed panel and strap hinges. 16-pane sash to right and paired 12-pane sash to
left; three 12-pane sashes at first floor. Right side is slate-hung to the left of
the external weathered stack; ground floor to right a single light, first floor right
large 9-pane stair light with wooden ovolo-moulded glazing bars. The rear kitchen
wing projects to right, with stack to side and single storey C20 lean-to. The left
side of the front range has 8-pane sash at ground and first floor, with external
weathered stack to left. Rear service wing to left has single light and 8-pane sash
to right, two 12-pane sashes to left, first floor two 12-pane sashes. End stack.
At the rear, the wing to right has attached single storey scullery/wash house, with
gable end and small C20 lean-to at end; inner side has plain door and 3-light 8-pane
casement with L hinges. Rear of kitchen to left has 12-pane sashes to ground floor,
3-light and 2-light casement at first floor, all windows with granite lintels.
