Borough Stone to mark the southern bounds of the Borough of Callington. Circa C18.
Granite post, rectangular in plan, with rounded head, set in a rubblestone wall.
Inscribed in upper case, serif lettering 'BOROUGH' with 2 horizontal parallel lines
above. Probably further 2 lines below ground floor.
Callington was created a parliamentary borough in 1584 but lost borough status in
1832.
QV borough stones in Haye Road, Launceston Road and Tavistock Road, Callington.
