Includes No 40 Garbutt Street. C1837-40 built as Victoria Terrace. 2 storeys
and basement. Brick with brick'flat arches and stone cill strings, moulded
cornice and blocking course. Sash windows with cambered heads, 5 per house
except Nos 74 to 75 which are a pair having 3 windows each; only No 78 has
glazing bars. Projecting Tuscan porticos with 6 panelled doors and reveals
and rectangular lights above doors, Nos 68 and 78 traceried; Nos 78-82 have
blocking course to porticos. Nos 80 to 82 painted, No 80 has a 2 window return
to Major Street. Dormers to rear, mostly Yorkshire sashes. The terrace is
set back by gardens with panelled piers to pavement.
