Corner of Suez Street. Mid Cl9, brick with stone dressings, top cornice with
modillions and wall-plate. 2 storeys. Symmetrical front, the centre breaking
forward witii a square entrance of Ionic columns and pilasters, frieze and cornice,
and fanlight, up steps. 2 large 12-paned sash windows on ground floor. in moulded
architraves with cornice on decorated brackets. 3 9-paned sash windows on upper
floor in moulded architraves, the centre one with a cornice. Left hand return
side to Suez Street has 6 windows each floor, with relief carvings of beasts inset
in wall.
Nos l2, 9 to 21 (odd), the Museum and Art Gallery, No l0 Egypt Street, all the
listed buildings in Palmyra square, Nos 3 to I3 (odd) Springfield Street and
Nos 13 and l5 Suez Street form a group.
