Birch Cottage.

Cottage, late C17, cased in brick probably early C19, re-windowed and
re-doored late C20 without alteration to openings. English garden
wall bond brickwork, painted; thatched roof. 1 1/2 storeys; 2 windows.
Camber-arched heads. Slate-roofed gabled porch left. Rebuilt chimney
on left gable. 1-storey 1-room slate-roofed brick leanto on left end.
Interior: Lobby-entrance plan. Ingle-nook with cambered chamfered
oak bressumer; cambered oak beam in same room; some oak small framing
in internal walls. Stair renewed.
The new windows significantly alter the appearance of the cottage, but
the alterations are superficial.
