Cottage, 1755 altered, of rendered brick on (now rendered) sandstone
plinth; grey slate roof. 2 storeys; 4 windows. Door of 6 fielded
panels in moulded pedimented case. Two 16-pane oak casements of late
Georgian type, slightly recessed, to each storey; bars removed from
similar casement above door. Slightly recessed later right bay has 1
replaced small-pane casement to each storey. Corbelled eaves to older
part, the detail now concealed by render. Brick ridge chimney behind
doorway. Datestone TM:1755.
Interior: Lobby-entrance plan. Brick barrel-vaulted cellar;
v-jointed boarded door; stair (replaced) immediately behind lobby.
The cottage suggests C18 and late Georgian recasing and rebuilding
around a C17 case of which no visible structure survives.
