20/2 Lych Gate

Lych gate to the Church of St Lawrence. 1906. Timber frame partly supported on
stone and flint walls, with tile slips to wall plate. Old tile half hipped
roof. Rectangular plan. Arch-braced and chamfered truss at each end, large
scantling rafters. Chamfered and cambered purlins with inscription which reads
'This gate was erected by the Friends and Relations of Rear Admiral Capel
Woodhouse for 17 years Churchwarden of this Parish'. A bench seat on each side,
and patterned floor of tile slips and stone. Gates are missing but pintles
remain.
