Milepost. Early to mid C19. Sandstone with cast-iron facing plate.
Triangular in section and approx. 1 metre high; flat-faced semicircular head
with raised lettering:-

"BARNSLEY & PONTEFRACT ROAD" (round the head)

"ACKWORTH"

Below, the right-hand side has stencilled lettering "BARN".
