Lychgate. Dated 1878 on beam in roof. Coursed squared sandstone, timber superstructure with red tiled roof. Vernacular Revival style. Stone side walls, each with a timber sill carrying three short turned posts with tracery in the openings between them, emphatic arch-bracing to a lateral beam and to two longitudinal beams, the inner of which carries a brass plate inscribed in Gothic script:- THIS LYCHGATE ERECTED 1878
On these principal beams, a further set of stout turned posts supporting purlins. Between the side walls, a pair of gates with quatrefoil panels in the lower half and turned balusters in the upper, with scrolled wrought-iron spikes between them; decorated strap hinges to the top and bottom rails.
