Pair of cottages Mid C19, altered. For the Thorp Arch estate, Coursed,
squared magnesian limestone, Welsh slate roof, 2 storeys and attic, 2
windows to 1st floor; reflected pair. Cottage on left has panelled door and
plain overlight under plain lintel; to its right is a 16-pane sash with
projecting stone sill and lintel as door; similar 1st-floor" sash. Rye
Cottage on right is similar but handed, and has C20 glazed door, Oversailing
eaves: large C20 roof dormer to Rye Cottage; central yellow-brick ridge stack
with 6 octagonal flues rising from shared base. Right return: round-arched
windows to 1st floor and attic. Left return: round-arched 1st-floor;
Venetian-style attic window. Included for group value.
