House, now 2 houses. Mid C17 with late C18- early C19 alterations and
division. Gritstone rubble, graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays,
the centre bay projecting forward as a gabled wing. Quoins. Left bay:
door left and casement window to right on each floor, all in plain
surrounds. End stack to left. Central bay: recessed chamfered mullion
windows of 1 light to ground floor and 3 lights (altered) to first floor
left; inserted window first-floor right; bulbous kneelers, gable coping,
large corniced ashlar stack to apex of gable. Left return has a chamfered
quoined surround to doorway on left; C20 window in altered C17 opening to
right and 2-light recessed chamfered mullion window to first floor, the
mullion missing. Right bay: inserted doorway left, 3-light recessed
chamfered mullion window right, drip mould over both; similar window to
first floor; corniced stack left. The eaves of bay 1 have been raised.
Rear: random fenestration; bays 2 and 3 have small Cl7 windows, bay 1 has
larger C18 and C19 openings. Interior not inspected at resurvey; reported
to contain an original fireplace and a 1625 datestone. I. Goldthorpe, One
