House. Late C18 - early C19 refronting of an older building, when house was
divided into 2 cottages. Coursed rubble, with ashlar dressings, pantile
roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Quoins. To left, C20 6-panel door in rusticated
chamfered quoined surround with extended lintel with tripartite keystone.
Matching doorway, now blocked, to right. C20 12-pane top-hung casement
windows in ashlar surrounds. Ashlar copings. Brick stacks at ends and
centre. Interior: fielded-panel window shutters. Ground-floor room to
left: door of 2 fielded-panels, salt cupboard door with L-hinges. Ground-
floor room to right: late C18 - early C19 ashlar fireplace with corbel
supports to lintels, formerly containing contemporary cast-iron kitchen
range by Bradwell of Richmond, now in Richmondshire Museum, and with salt
cupboard.
