2/59 The Vicarage.

GV II

Large house: late C18/early C19. Washed Flemish bond red brick.
Welsh slate roof and 4 brick chimneys. Double-pile plan. 2-storey
symmetrical 3-bay north front. End bays have recessed 12-pane sashes
under cambered wedged stone heads and stone sills. At extreme right
end is a small mid C19 added porch with PARISH ROOM inscribed on the
lintel. Central bay has a projecting flat hood over a simple wooden
doorcase containing a half-glazed door and a fanlight with radial
glazing bars. Similar window above. 1-storey extension to the left
of no special interest. 2-storey, 4-bay garden front of 12-pane
sashes, a tripartite sash and 2 blocked windows.
