Farmhouse: early C18. English bond orange brick, washed stone
dressings, Welsh slate roof and 2 gable brick chimneys. 3-storey,
symmetrical 7-bay front. Blue brick plinth, flush stone quoins, plain
bands at 1st and 2nd floor,coved and dentilated cornice. Tall 2-light
wooden casements with flat gauged brick heads. There are 3 either
side of a central doorway on ground storey, 4 on the 1st floor and 3
in the top storey. 6-panelled door in moulded surround with fielded
panelled reveals, has a gabled hood. Brick bands to sides and rear.
2-storey, 3-bay C19 addition to left.
Interior: entry into hall with exposed ceiling beams. To rear oak
well staircase with chamfered handrail, square newels and bulbous
turned balusters. Part of hall and stairwell has C17 wainscotting,
remainder from Portal Tarporley. 6-panelled doors with panelled
reveals. Room to left has an inglenook fireplace end room to right a
Neo-Classical fireplace.
