National school and Master's house, including front boundary wall. Dated
"National Schools 1861". Coursed squared rubble; Cotswold stone slate roof;
ashlar stacks with cornice. Single storey with a projecting gabled cross wing
to either end; that to the right is the single storey and attic former Master's
house. 6 bays; 2-light square headed casement windows to the centre with
mullions and transoms; 3-light cross window under arched head to left wing;
3-light square bay window with 2-light casement above, to right wing. 2 plank
doors with arched heads in projecting gabled porches in re-entrant angles. -
Lateral stacks with set-offs and diagonal chimneys, bearing the arms and motto of
New College, Oxford (a benefactor of the school), to the central range. Low
coped coursed rubble boundary walls, ashlar piers with pyramidal caps.
