Burgess' house in the village street. Mid C18. Ashlar; Cotswold stone slate
and double Roman tiled mansard roof with coped raised verges; coped parapet,
panelled and balustraded; dentilled eaves cornice. 2 storeys, cellars and
attics in 3 dormers. 4 windows and off-centre door on ground floor, 6 windows
on first; French rusticated end pilasters. Glazing bar sash windows in
architraves, on brackets with panelled aprons to first floor; bay window in
centre of ground floor; semi-circular headed window over door with keystone and
Gothick glazing. 6 panel door; Tuscan column doorcase and segmental hood. A
good local example of provincial baroque.
