There's a metal strip surrounding this effigy with an inscription that reads 'Sir Gyles Knight Sonne and Heyre of Sir Gyles Alington Knight died 20 Augustii Ano 1586, and in the year of his age 86. He first married Ursula, Daughter of Sir Robert Drury,
Knighte, and by her has issue, Robert, Secondly he married Alice, Daughter and Heyre of John Middleton, Esquire, before wife to Thomas Elrington, Esquire, and by her had issue, Thomas, Richard, William, Philip, Ann, Frances, Elizabeth, Jane and Margaret, and thirdly he married Margaret daughter of John Talkerne Esquire, before wife to Thomas Argall Esquire and by her had no issue'.
