Cottage, late C17 extended by one bay to right hand C18.
Rendered timber frame with thatched roof of long straw and grey
gault brick ridge stack. Four bays, lobby entry plan. One
storey and attic. Two gabled dormers. Four windows, including
one three-light horizontal sliding sash and a casement with
leaded lights. Doorway in its original location opposite the
stack. Inside the framing is exposed. Straight bracing and
joists laid on edge. Original three bay plan with inglenook to
centre bay and smaller abutting hearth to parlour to right
hand. Floors carried on clamps. Roof of clasped, side purlin
construction. At first floor the cottage is open to the roof,
and part of the C18 bay is single storey.
