SP 80 NW LONGWICK-CUM-ILMER MEADLE

2/101 Meadle Farmhouse

GV II

House. Late C16-C17, altered. Ground floor rebuilt in brick, upper
storeys timber framed with brick infill. Centre part has ogee braces.
Old tile roof, chimney stack between left bays with 4 separate brick
shafts, 3 set diagonally. Small brick chimney to right. 2 storeys
and attic , 3 bays and lobby entry. C20 hardwood casements, mostly
3-light. C20 flush-panelled door in line with chimney, C20 half-
glazed door in right bay, both with slate hoods on cut wooden
brackets. C20 conservatory to left, the gable above weatherboarded.
Lean-to to rear of left half. Re-sited old 3-light leaded casement
to first floor centre rear. Interior: stop-chamfered spine beams
and joists; stop -chamfered fireplace lintels; central ground floor
room with moulded spine beam and fireplace lintel; some curved wind-
braces.
