SP 80 NW LONGWICK-CUM-ILMER MEADLE

GV II

House. Early C18, altered. Colourwashed roughcast over chequer brick,
the brick exposed to rear and right gable. C20 tiled roof, brick
chimneys to right and rear left corner. T-plan with outshots in angle
to rear of left bay. 2 storeys, first floor band course. Now 3 bays,
originally 5, with concealed blocked windows. 4-pane sash windows,
replaced early C20. Ground floor windows have segmental heads, upper
windows have small gables above. Central old 2-panel door with paired
leaded fanlight and roll-moulded frame. Early C20 timber gabled porch.
Rear wing has basement and attic, the rear gable with 2 bays of segmental
headed windows, the left bay blind. Interior has old 2-panel doors and
early C18 central staircase with moulded balusters, handrail and closed
string. Former Meeting House and home of John White, a noted Quaker.
