2/14 The Old Rectory

House. C16, extended in C18 and C19. Mainly timber framed and plastered,
partly of painted and plastered brick, roofed with handmade red plain tiles.
Complex plan comprising main range aligned NE-SW, C18 and C19 extensions to both
sides of SW end, and large crosswing, c.1800, at NE end, extending to NW.
Additional lean-to extensions around 3 sides of court to NW. Mainly 2 storeys
with attics, large crosswing of 2 high storeys. Present main elevation to SE.
Ground floor, one early C19 sash of 8 + 12 lights and one of 12 + 12 lights.
First floor, one C19/20 sash of 12 lights, 2 early C19 sashes of 8 + 8 lights.
Some crown glass. Attic, one C19 casement. Early C19 5-panel door, the top
panels glazed, in trellised gabled porch. More sashes with crown glass in NE
elevation. Jowled posts in main range. The SW bay of the main range has a
dragon beam and under-built jetties to SW and NW. Chamfered beams with step
stops. Wallplates chamfered with step stops. Roof accessible but wholly
plastered as attics. Early C19 stair with stick balusters and wreathed
handrail. RCHM (Pattiswick) 4.
