House. Early C19. Timber framed, roughcast rendered, roofed with slate.
Rectangular plan with central stack, and wing to rear left. 2 storeys. Ground
floor, one early C19 sash of 20 lights. First floor, one similar sash, and one
of 16 lights. Crown glass. 6-panel door, 4 panels recessed and 2 bottom panels
flush, with plain overlight in doorcase with moulded shallow canopy. Low-
pitched roof, rebuilt in late C19. Railings and gate of wrought and cast iron
forming boundary with street, returning to house at right end. Urn terminals on
cast iron stanchions, spearheads on railings. Height approximately 0.80 metre.
The rear elevation has an early C19 sash of 16 lights on each floor, and a
12-pane fixed light on the first floor of the rear wing. C19 horizontal sash of
12 lights on right side of rear wing. Early C19 stair with pine handrail,
turned newel at top, and stick balusters on landing. One original sash of 16
lights is in the partition wall of the ground floor, to right of the stack, with
handmade glass. Late C19 cast iron range in rear ground-floor hearth. Early
C19 cast iron grates in both first-floor hearths. Included for group value.
