House, now 2 houses. 1674. Timber framed, roughcast, partly clad with painted
brick, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. 2 bays and central chimney-bay,
with underbuilt long jetty. C20 rear extension. 2 storeys and attics.
2-window range of early C19 sashes of 16 lights with some crown glass, segmental
heads to ground floor. Central C19 gabled brick porch with 2 C20 doors in
doorways with 4-centred heads and tiled roof. 2 jettied feature gables. The
bressumers are carved and moulded, the upper one inscribed EP 1674 (for Edward
Potter junior). Large gabled dormer to rear over original attic stair.
Side-purlin roof with intermediate collars. (Wherein I Dwell, Earls Colne WEA,
1983, 65-6). RCHM 14.
