House, now two houses. Late C15/early C16, altered and extended in C17. Timber
framed, weatherboarded, roofed with red plain tiles. Small hall house facing
SW, with one C16 stack rebuilt at top, and one C18 stack. One storey with
attics. Ground floor, 2 C20 casements. 4 gabled dormers, second from left with
C19 sash, others with C20 casements. 2 small C20 porches with lean-to roofs of
red plain tiles. Date 1640 inscribed in plaster of right gable, and in attached
modern lettering in one dormer. (Wherein I Dwell, Earls Colne WEA, 1983, 60).
