House. Probably early C17 with major alterations and additions c.1720 and in
C19. Sandstone rubble, rendered front; stone-flagged roof and stone chimneys.
2 storeys, 4 irregular bays. Left half is a later addition.C20 glazed gabled
porch and replaced door in third bay. Chamfered door surround with lintel
inscribed AD 1720. Replaced sashes in tooled C19 openings. Blank first-floor
left bay. Raised eaves. Roof with coped gables and shaped kneelers. End
stacks with top bands and water tables. Stepped external chimney to right
return. Rear outshut of several builds has 20-pane sash on right return.
Interior: thick, originally external, cross wall to right of staircase;
chamfered Tudor-arched fireplace with massive lintel and flanking salt/spice
cupboards in sitting room.
