A pair of estate cottages. 1869, with minor C20 changes and C20 extension.
Walls of red brickwork in Flemish bond, with Bath stone dressings; plinth,
window surrounds, hood-moulds. Roof of (C20) interlocking tiles, gables
above the half-dormers; central stack with four octagonal flues. A 'Tudor'
design, with a C20 shop attached to the north end; symmetrical west front of
one and a half storeys, two windows. Metal casements with diagonal lights.
No. 12 (south side) has a doorway with a Tudor arch and a boarded door with
wrought-iron decorative hinges; the post office doorway has been altered, to
a window. There are plaques above each doorway, and between the upper and
lower windows, with raised ornament, the one above the south side door with
the figure 12, others with heraldic and floral decoration, incorporating the
date 1869.
