Lodge, now house. 1876-8 by Alfred Waterhouse, altered C20.
Red brick in Flemish bond, with darker header bricks in
horizontal bands. Steeply pitched tiled roof with crested
ridge tiles. T-plan.
EXTERIOR: single storey and 2 storeys. Central ridge chimney
with offset head. Gable has corbelled first floor, corbelled
kneelers; toothed and dentilled brickwork under verges. High,
projecting weathered plinth. Sash windows with
segmental-arched heads.
Entrance (east) front: one narrow window on ground and first
floor. One larger window to the right on ground floor. Planked
entrance door on left in one-storey part with glazed upper
panel; tiled pent hood. Outhouse on left with hipped roof now
linked to house by C20 wall.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The lodge is one of 5 lodges to Silwood Park (qv) built by
Alfred Waterhouse.
