Lodge. 1876-8 by Alfred Waterhouse. Red brick in Flemish bond
with bands of darker header bricks. Steeply pitched tiled
roofs with crested ridge tiles. Irregular plan.
EXTERIOR: one storey and 2 storeys. Central ridge chimney with
offset head. Gables have corbelled first floor, corbelled
kneelers; toothed and dentilled brickwork under verges. High,
projecting weathered plinth. Sash windows with
segmental-arched heads. West front: 2 gables both 2 bays, the
one on the left taller. Entrance on south return.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The lodge is one of 5 lodges to Silwood Park (qv) built by
Alfred Waterhouse.
