House,formerly vicarage. Date plaque to SE elevation: "S.W. 1781", S.W. being
Samuel Whitbread I. Red brick, hipped old clay tile roofs. Double-pile plan
with recessed central block to SE elevation, 2 storeys. NW elevation:
symmetrical facade. Central doorway, up 4 stone steps, has part glazed door
in surround of Roman Doric pilasters, entablature with triglyph frieze and
modillion cornice. Both floors have 4 flush sash windows under flat arches,
with pointed arched glazing bars, the 2 flanking door narrower than the rest.
NE elevation has large 2-storeyed semi-circular bay to L, with french windows
to ground floor. All other windows similar to NW elevation. SE elevation has
mullion and transom windows with leaded lights and glazed door. SW elevation
has both window types and some dummy windows.
