House, formerly a pair of almshouses. Circular plaque: "J.H, 1762, restored
S.H.W. 1928", referring respectively to John Howard and Samuel Howard
Whitbread. Colour washed roughcast over timber frame on high red brick
plinth. Old clay tile roof. Each cottage of one-room plan, 2 storeys. 2 3-
light casements with leaded lights to each floor. 2 plank doors in moulded
surrounds to centre. Red brick double ridge stack. C18 wrought iron railings
and gate to front garden, similar to those at Howard's house.
