House. Later C18. Red brick, that to front elevation in header bond, with
English bond to gable ends. Quoins, string course and cornice of Totternhoe
clunch. Slated mansard roof. Double-pile plan. 2 storeys and attics. C19
single-storeyed outbuildings project from rear. Symmetrical front elevation.
Ground floor has 2 Venetian windows, the pilasters, entablatures and
archivolts of wood. Semi-circular heads of central sashes are hidden by wood
louvres set into arch of surround. First floor has 2 modified Venetian
windows flanking single sash window. These differ from ground floor windows
in that central window and central part of outer ones have flat-headed sashes
surmounted by ogee arches. All 3 have simple console brackets below sills.
Outer windows are set into slightly projecting bays. Attic has 3 pedimented
dormers, all containing sashes with glazing bars. Central doorway has 6-panel
door, upper pair glazed, other 4 fielded, set in plain reveals. Flanking
pilasters support an ornamented ogee head, all of timber. String course and
cornice have simple mouldings. Red brick integral stacks to both gable ends.
Interior: 2 ground floor rooms retain fielded pine panelling and fire
surrounds. Open well staircase with paired barleytwist balusters. Ground and
first floor windows retain internal panelled shutters.
