Taylor's Mill
II
Mill and mill house. Early C19, reworked later C19. Mill house red brick
with some chequerwork patterning in flared headers. Mill timber framed and clad
in weatherboarding. Main roof clay tiled, lower part slated. Mill to RH is 2
storeys and attics, mill house to LH is 2 storeys, with the part adjoining the
mill raised to same height as the mill. Mill house: to LH ground floor is
canted bay with slate roof, plank door to centre and small paned sash window to
RH facet. Above bay is similar sash window. RH part has first floor band.
One sash window per floor, with larger panes and canted heads, and small fixed
light to RH of first floor. Flush-panel door under flat bracketed hood. Mill:
lower edges of bargeboards have beaded moulding. 2 windows per floor, including
2 sashes with glazing bars. One box dormer with casement window. One plank
door each to ground and first floors. Red brick stack to LH gable end of taller
block.
