2 dwellings. C17, possibly with an earlier core. Plastered cob with stone footings.
Half-hipped thatched roof. Probably a 3-room, through-passage plan, with lower end
front wing, forming an L-shaped plan overall. Truncated external lateral stack with
bake-oven bulge to inner face of wing; external rear lateral stack with 2 slate set-
offs and brick shaft. 2-storeys.
Front: wing with newel stair turret to end of front wing; C19 2-light casement
windows to this elevation; main front with one C18 or C19 3-light casement window to
first floor and another to ground; pair of front doors under shaped lintel. Another
door to the right of this.
Interior of No 16A with 2 roughly-chamfered cross beams with ideterminate stops; roof
with straight principals, collars lapped and side pegged with carpenter's marks,
which is odd for joints of this sort.
