House forming part of a row that is possibly all of one late medieval build which
includes Nos. 2 - 12. C15 or earlier. Plastered cob with stone footings. Thatched
roof. Probably a variant of the 3-room, cross-passage plan, adapted to fit into sub-
divided medieval tenement site, with hall and service room fronting Fore Street,
front lateral external stack heating hall, with inner room to rear. 2-storeys.
Front: 2-window range, one 2 and one 4-light casement window to first floor, to
either side of stack, two 2-light windows to ground floor, with door immediately to
the right of stack which has 2 pairs of set-offs, stone shaft with moulded cap, and a
brick extension to the shaft. Interior not inspected.
This is a most interesting example of a late-medieval urban plan type which is
