House. C16 at N end, recased on N in mid C17; extended S late
C17. Dark red brick, the ground floor on the N in chequered
flint and red brick. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys and attics.
Broad gabled cross wing on N with 2-storey gabled porch,
both having moulded brick band to 1st floor. Gable end has ground
and 1st floor C17 openings with 3-light casements. Porch has
arched entrance with thin brick hood moulding. Large external
chimney stack on N end with ovolo cornice. S side has 4
regularly spaced windows, those on ground floor with elliptical
relieving arches. C19 sashes. Moulded brick-floor band. C20
wooden cornice. 2 late-C17 dormers with C20 casements. Early-
C19 reeded door surround in porch. S elevation has 2-window C17
part, then large early-C20 extension in brick and flint. Sash
windows. Casement dormers. Interior has mid-C17 staircase at N
end with re-set turned balusters. At S end is a good late-C17
open-well staircase with tapering balusters and large shaped
