House, sometime The Fox PH. C16 or earlier open hall house with
2 storeys axial parlour wing at N, floor inserted and S part
heightened in Cl7, present central chimney of late Cl7 or C18,
front faced in brick and N end jetty underbuilt in C19, W
extension in 1970's. Timber frame on low stucco plinth,
roughcast. Painted red brick E front, red brick central chimney.
Red brick and pantile 2 storeys W extension of 1970's not of

mullioned windows. The 3-bay S part was formerly lower and open
to the roof, with tension braces in the walls and the service bay
partitioned off at S end. The lower parts of the arched braces
to the open truss of the hall survive below the inserted floor of
Cl? with chamfered axial beam and hollow stops. Inserted central
chimney at S end of hall with heavy ogee bracket supporting floor
beam. Walls heightened when floor inserted. S service bay
floored in C18 with a rough axial beam and square joists. E
front has 3 sash windows to upper floor surmounted by small half
timbered gables at eaves. 2 similar recessed sash windows to
ground floor with 3/3 panes and segmental arches, and 3-light
canted casement window in middle set in depth of wall. Large
