Semi-detached pair of houses. c.1826. Built with Home Park Mills (not
listed) by John Dickinson for accommodation of workers in paper
production. Rendered flint and red brick. Half hipped tiled roof. 2
storeys and attic. 2 window front. Ground floor left 16 pane and first
floor left 9 pane sashes, right bay C20 casements, all recessed with
segmental heads. Dentilled brick eaves. Central ridge stack with an
oversailing course. Lean-to outshuts set back on returns with entrances.
Small sashes in attics, red brick to right. Fenestration to rear as at
front. Later extension to rear. Interior not inspected. This pair forms
part of a planned group, symmetrically arranged 2:4:4:2, Nos. 1 to 10
Home Park Cottages (q.q.v.). (W. Branch Johnson, Industrial Archaeology
of Hertfordshire, 1970).
