House, now shop and restaurant. C16 or earlier, heated c.1600, floored
and extended mid to late C17, refronted early C18, altered and extended
in C19 and C20. Timber frame. Brick front with colourwash and sham
timber frame applied to No. 9. Tiled roof. 3 bay open hall originally 1
storey and attic. No. 7 is 2 bays with C20 entrances and shopfront.
First floor 2 light casement and sash. No. 9 is 1 bay with C20 ground
floor entrance and window. First floor applied timber and gabled half
dormer, 2 light casement with leaded panes, bargeboarded. Dentilled
brick eaves to right. Left gable with tile coped parapet. Central axial
ridge stack. Short C17 wing to rear with slightly higher ridge between 2
left bays. Broad weatherboarded gable with exposed timbers and
whitewashed brick nogging to rear. To rear of No. 9 a lower gabled early
C19 brick wing with an external stack to rear and a 16 pane sash.
Interior: stop chamfered ground floor binding beam, crown post clasped
purlin roof, curved braces to tie beams. (RCHM Typescript).
