House. C17 or earlier, C18 S part heightened in C19 and single-storey N
wing, later C20 N part. Timber frame exposed at front and rear in old
middle part with red brick for infill and casing to ground floor, S part
has red and blue brickwork in Flemish-bond and plum brick in stretcher
bond above the exposed former wallplate. Sandy red brick N wing. N part
in red brick in stretcher-bond. Steep old red tile roofs. An irregular
2-storeys, L-shaped building facing W. The middle part has the timber
frame, internal chimney rising through the rear slope of the roof and
front lobby-entrance of a house formerly extending to N. S part appears
to have been a single-storey adjunct, probably a stable or service
wing. W front has an upper window to middle, 2 to S part, and 3 to
higher N part. Entrance in middle by plank door under a large gabled
tiled C19 timber porch. 3-light flush casement windows with small panes.
Rear wall has full-height bay-post and 5 brick panels between studs on
upper floor.
