Farmhouse. Possibly C15 with early C17 and later alterations. Rendered
timber-frame, Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. L-plan with one arm pro-
jecting roughly westwards, the other northwards. East/west wing has two
storeys; north/south wing, one storey and attic. West elevation has one
window, a 3-light early C19 casement to gable front under blocked segmental
head. Ground floor has two more such windows, one to left and one in gable
front. Entry in mid-C20 porch with contemporary door immediately to left of
gable. Mid-C19 lean-to extension to right hand side. Interior has one pair
of cruck blades without collar, though with peg-holes for arch braces, visible
in roof of north/south range. In the principal room beneath, the moulded base
of one blade springs from east wall. The same room has a large stone fireplace
and heavy chamfered beams dividing the ceiling into panels. (RCHM, Vol I, p 18).
