ciderhouse about 15 yards
west of New Mills Farmhouse

Ciderhouse and granary or hayloft, now store. Circa 1800. Sandstone rubble and brick
filled timber-frame with Welsh slate roof. Three bays aligned roughly
north/south. Two levels. East elevation has sandstone plinth extending
to upper floor level above which are two rows of square framing with two
openings. Ledged door to left-hand side has head projecting into framing.
North gable has two flights of tallet stairs rising southwards then westwards
to central ledged door. Interior has collar trusses. Collars are each
supported by two posts which are tied back to principals. Cider apparatus
no longer in situ at time of resurvey (July 1986). Included for group value.
