5/2 Apple Tree Cottage and No 32

House divided into two tenements, Apple Tree Cottage to north and No 32 to
south. C17, altered mid-C19 and C20. Timber-framed with brick infill and
part refacing, sandstone plinth and stacks, tiled roof. Four framed bays
aligned north/south facing west with later additions to rear, lean-to to north
gable end enclosing stack and further addition to south gable end enclosing
both stack and shaft, entrances central to each house. Single storey with
attic, four gabled dormers with 2-light casement windows, tow to each house,
leaded to Apple Tree Cottage; 2-light casement windows flank porch with glazed
door to Apple Tree Cottage; 3-light metal casement windows flank porch with
ledged door to No 32. Framing: fairly complete with brick refacing to lower
section of west front, originally three square panels high from sill to wall-
plate, angle bracing from main post to wall-plate to No 32.
