C18, early C19. Massive east-west barn of 14 bays, with a narrower extension at the
west end, extending southwards for 10 bays, and at the east end a north-south range of
small C18 cottages. The main unit has a timber frame (a tall section with a King post
above a Queen post) with a wall in red brickwork, with flat external and internal
buttresses and decorative piercings for ventilation; there are projecting porches at
the third, seventh, and twelfth bays on the south side. Hipped old tile roof. The west
wing has brick walls supporting old trusses, and a red tile roof, 1/2-hipped. The
eastern block is of one-storey and attic, with 1/2-hipped tile roof, red brick walling in
English bond. Two dormers, and altered openings. Once residential, later a bothy, now
a utility building.
